Committees represent specific groups of members’ interests. They are elected every two years.

Equity Committees drive union policy, conduct negotiations and make sure that the needs of all Equity members are heard. They submit motions to Equity’s Council and to our annual conference, which can then become policy.

There are committees representing specific sectors, geographical areas, young workers and members facing discrimination for protected characteristics such as disability, race and sexuality. Find out more about committee elections.

Nominations for election to committees will open on 5 March 2025. We will email all members with instructions of how to nominate themselves to stand for election nearer the time.
