Creative Scotland multi-year funding - Equity responds

Announcement signals 'optimism for the arts'.

Equity has responded to details of today’s announcement from Creative Scotland, outlining details about the arts organisations that will receive multi-year funding.

Equity’s Scotland Official, Marlene Curran, says: “Today’s Creative Scotland announcement signals optimism for the arts in Scotland. Particularly welcome is the news that 141 organisations will receive multi-year funding for the first time, allowing even more creatives the long-terms stability needed to thrive in the industry.

"Despite a difficult few years for the sector, which has faced cuts and U-turns aplenty, Equity has campaigned hard to instate increased funding and long overdue certainty. We are pleased that, thanks to the Scottish Government putting its money where its mouth is, today’s announcement now looks ahead to a brighter future for the industry.”
