£4.2 million in royalties paid to performers in November

Equity has delivered £4.2 million in royalties payments to more than 12,000 performers this month.

Equity has today announced that £4.2 million was paid in royalties to more than 12,000 performers in November, this brings the total Equity royalties paid out so far in 2024 to over £17.5 million. 

The November payouts, which were the largest monthly amount paid so far in 2024, were from royalties from Equity contracts and agreements negotiated by the union.

The payments included royalties from companies including BBC, ITV and Sky catch-up, and films including The Witches and Justice League. November also saw first time royalties for films including The Gentlemen and Peter Rabbit 2.

The November payouts also include revenue for British TV and film titles show in Finland; TV royalties from vintage series The Avengers to contemporary series like Outlander and cast album royalties including Le Mis, Matilda, and Back to the Future.

Equity agreements have delivered £98.6 million in secondary and back-end payments for performers engaged on union contracts paid out via the Distributions Team since the Equity Distribution Services was launched 2017.
