Warning about potential issues around video game casting

Equity is warning its members about potential issues around a casting for a video game.

The company involved are called 'XLA' and being run by a Max Gregory. XLA are claiming that their contracts are agreed with Equity. Equity has not agreed, nor do we endorse any contracts with this company. Equity does not have any union agreements with this company.

The casting references a video game being created by Konami and filming at Pinewood Studios. Equity is currently unable to confirm the legitimacy of this casting, so we are asking members to show extreme caution before proceeding with any work with this company.

Equity is advising that any member who is contacted by XLA, Max Gregory or Alex Phillips to report this as a potential issue to Police Action Fraud at Action Fraud or by calling 0300 1232040 and use extreme caution when dealing with XLA or anybody associated with them. We would also recommend you do not pass over any personal details to the company or the people involved with this casting.

If you have already been involved with XLA, signed any contracts or sent any information, etc please also contact Police Action Fraud. You can also report this to Equity at ssailing@equity.org.uk, but you will need to make an individual report to Police Action Fraud.

Equity would also like to remind members to show extreme caution when giving out any personal information. You should never be asked to hand over money to an employer. If you are worried about the legitimacy of any work, please always contact Equity.
