Without a proper agreement with advertisers, to hold the industry to account, working fees, usage payments and contracts are amongst the poorest and most oppressive for artists working today. Our commercials members are at risk of being exploited by profitable and dominant ad agencies and brands. Join our campaign which demands that the advertising industry and brands pay decent fees and usage payments, proper terms and conditions of work, fair contracts without oppressive and obscure clauses on usage, exclusivity, rights to your work and using your image via AI technology.
The UK advertising market alone was worth £36.6bn in 2023, driven by a sharp increase in online and digital advertising. Leading figures in the industry say: “The UK advertising industry's talent for effectiveness and innovation is a global success story, transforming businesses around the world.”
However, our members and artists who make these profitable commercials do not receive their fair share for their contribution to this hugely profitable industry. The advertising industry has been far too dominant for too long and it’s time to redress the balance. Come and join our campaign to fight back for higher, fairer fees, more transparency in the industry, better contracts and protection from your work being exploited and shown through AI.
