Guest Speaker- Gordon Lamont with a practical Radio Drama workshop
An EQUITY member since 1987, Gordon joined BBC Learning Programmes in 1989 as a Radio Producer, specialising in short-form drama and stories. As both a staff producer/director and later as a freelance director he worked on more than 300 programmes, including Afternoon Play for Radio 4, The Poetry of Passion for Radio 3 and much education output. He wrote and directed ‘Fly YOU to the Moon’ – the BBC’s first full length Digital demonstrator. Gordon also worked for BBC Online, BBC Television, the Discovery Cannel and many others. In 2008 he was part of the Children’s BAFTA winning team for ‘Off by Heart.’
About the workshop
Based on Gordon’s Actor’s Centre Radio Drama days and BBC Academy Radio Drama sessions, this short introduction will be a practical opportunity to explore the techniques and craft of Radio Drama in an informal, practical, and enjoyable way, using portable equipment.
