•    Moa Ryberg (Equity Student Bursary Awardee)

I’m so grateful to have been selected as a bursary winner; it was a complete surprise! I’ve been looking at completing some extra training to improve my knowledge as a stage manager but held off because of the financial barrier, this bursary now allows me the freedom to pursue this to better myself professionally.

Equity’s Student and Young Member Bursaries Scheme is funded by donations from Equity Life Members, demonstrating their solidarity with younger members of the creative workforce entering the entertainment industry. The bursaries of £500 assist Student and Young Members with the costs of beginning a career in the sector.

I'm so happy to have won one of Equity’s 2024 Student and Young Member Bursaries. This will help me massively with the cost of living. Thank you so much Equity - I'm so grateful.”

I have just graduated from four years of acting at LAMDA and experiencing the highs and lows of being self-employed. I come from a low-income background in Birmingham and received loads of financial help for my training. So, when I received the bursary from Equity, I was shocked and relived as it means I can put money aside in getting new headshots and showreel material for casting. Thank you, Equity!

Each year, bursaries of £500 each will be awarded to two Equity Student Members in their final year of study on a course of one year or longer, and two members of Equity who are aged 18-30. Receiving funding for the arts, whether individually, nationally, or globally, is never a certainty, which is why I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Equity has given me. Now I am very excited to get started on the project that this bursary will fund.
